Metamodels for real-time control - an automotive design study

چکیده

This paper examines the use of metamodels in the context of rapid prototyping for real-time control systems. It is desired that a drive by wire throttle controller be designed to minimise the acceleration oscillations which are a result of the first torsional mode of automotive drivelines. A response surface metamodel is fitted to the output of a complex experimentally verified model of the vehicle and driveline. Subsequently, the metamodel is used as a rapid prototyping tool, and as a basis for a final closed-loop design by evolutionary methods.
